About...
Arudy is a little town located in the south-west of France. They have a 20 years old logo that needs a relooking, that’s why I worked with them to initiate a project refreshing the logotype. Sadly after all the work and beside the global agreement on changing the logo. The lack of conviction and motivation of their staff made the project sink for now.
I did an internship in 2020 at the Arudy city hall. My main mission during this internship was to initiate a process of remaking their logotype so they could be up to date compared to other towns, and also show their motivation on making their town active and attractive.
My main idea was to keep the original logo layout but refreshing it with a more modern and cleaner looking. Alongside this main idea I worked on multiples other ideas, in case they were ready to change completely the identity of their logotype.
After a successful meeting with the administration, the main idea was by far the favourite and was ready to make the step. Sadly, it’s also where my internship was over and even though all the files and stuffs were ready to use, they never made the step and let the project sink.
On the right you can see their current logo.
My first “branding”
We can divide the logo above in 3 parts.
1. The blue mountain on the left, reference to the Pic du Midi d’Ossau.
- The “Téléthon” flower with multiple colors.
- “Arudy” with a underline.
We will keep the mountain and Arudy with a text underline and remove the flower and colors as it’s not necessary anymore.
Process
TO conclude
It was a great first project, maybe someday it will end properly. But anyway, it was a great opportunity to give a new identity to a town with their logo.
